Hi there,
I've just purchased the RPI Modbus license for my first project. Unfortunately, i'm struggling to license my software - can anyone be of any assistance?
I've powered up the RPI & connected it to my laptop with network cable.
I've then opened Rex View, but cant find the target device so i can obtain the IP address & site code tag?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi bailp,
I'm sorry you are struggling with the licence. This page explains the process of associating the REX licence with your Raspberry Pi.
To obtain the IP address, either check the DHCP clients list on your router or connect the Raspberry Pi to your monitor with HDMI cable and run ifconfig command from the command line.
You should have received a welcome e-mail with the instructions. Was it lost on its way?
Hope this helps. If you need additional assistance, I'll be happy to help.

Both, your computer and the RPi, should be on the same (sub)network. The easiest way is to connect both to your router by means of network cables...
(however you should be able to connect the RasPi straight to your PC but then you have to give them both a static IP address)
Then I suggest to start with this tutorial : Turning Raspberry Pi into a PLC - Blinking LEDs example
If you are using a headless RasPi then you want to read this : SSH USING WINDOWS

This example can be used on RasPi 2, just verify if you are using the correct gpio...
