Hi All,
Is it possible to use a USB - UART converter on the Monarco Hat to talk Modbus RTU to an external device. Would it require some coding or is it simpler than that?
Using the USB - UART converter I also have to add some hardware to turn it from full duplex to half so I can transmit over a single wire. But this shouldn't be an issue.
Cheers

Hi Mike,
I'm a bit confused. USB converter has nothing to do with the Monarco HAT, you plug it into the Raspberry Pi.
Also the full/half duplex is a bit unclear to me. What external device are you planning to talk to? Is there any datasheet/documentation available?
Please clarify the above so I can give some advice.
Kind regards,
Jaroslav

Sorry to confuse the issue....! I guess what I'm trying to do is transmit Modbus through a USB to TTL adapter using REXYGEN. Would I need to use some coding for this?
Thanks

Hi Mike,
no coding is required. You just configure the Modbus driver to use e.g. /dev/ttyUSB0.
