Hi,
Whilst trying to transfer the operating system image to the internal storage on my Wago PFC100, I am getting the error
'Error creating bootable image on /dev/mmcblk0'
Am I doing something wrong? I have followed the Getting started with REX and WAGO PFC100/200 user guide.
Cheers,
Adam

Hi Adam,
sorry to hear about your troubles. Do I understand it correctly that this error is thrown by the Wago PFC100 web interface in step 6 of section 3.1 of the mentioned Getting started guide?

Hi Jaroslav,
You are correct, the error is thrown by the Wago PFC100 web interface in step 6 of section 3.1 of the Getting started guide.
Also as a separate note, I have since tried following the steps in section 3.2, but the package for bzip2 required in step 8 is not available.
Regards,
Adam

Hi Adam,
can you please check that your Wago PFC device booted from the SD card? See the Diagnostic Information in the Web-based management and you should see RexCore service starting. If you don't see it, the PLC booted from the internal storage.
Also, before copying the system image, check that the active partition is Memory card and that Destination is Internal Flash.
If all this is correct and you are still getting that error, please let me know which PFC100 model you have (750-8100, 750-8101, 750-8102 etc.).
Best regards,
Jaroslav

Hi Jaroslav,
I have been away, and have only just tried again today. I redid the process from the start and magically it all worked this time; I can boot without the SD card installed, and can see the RexCore service starting. I was having problems initially with Win32DiskImager not correctly generating the image, but it seemed to be a know fault. I used the roadkil disk imager and it seemed to work fine. This time I had issues with the roadkil disk imager not writing anything to the card, so I switched back to Win32DiskImager, and after re-writing the image three times I got an image that worked. It's seemingly not a Rex problem, but something you probably want to be aware of.
Cheers for your help,
Adam

Hi Adam,
thanks for the update. Glad you made it work.
Another software for writing SD card images is Etcher.io so you can give it a try.
Have a nice day!
Jaroslav
