Hi everybody,
you probably noticed the new version of REX (2.50.1) which is available. All users can upgrade for free, your licences are valid, just re-apply the SiteKey after upgrade if needed.
It is highly recommended to upgrade your OS to the newest version. For users of Raspbian Wheezy, this is mandatory prior to upgrade.
Download the new Raspbian image from https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/ and follow the instructions in our GitHub repository: https://github.com/rexcontrols/rex-inst … /README.md
ONLY IF you are running an up-to-date Raspbian Jessie image and want to upgrade only RexCore on your Raspberry Pi, please run the following:
sudo -s
echo 'deb http://download.rexcontrols.cz/repositories/debian-rex-2.50/ jessie non-free' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/rexcontrols.list
apt update
apt install rexcore
apt purge lighttpd rexwstcp
We did our best to make transitioning to the new version as smooth as possible, but you can still face some difficulties, especially if you are using the REXLANG programmable function block in your project. There are changes in command syntax, especially for opening communication buses (UART, SPI, I2C), see the REXLANG documentation. Moreover, you'll need an additional licence for the REXLANG block. Just leave a message here and we'll generate it for you.
You'll also need new development tools, download from https://www.rexcontrols.com/software-download
In case of problems while upgrading, let us know here in the forum. If you have some questions, we'll be happy to hear from you.

I've upgraded to v2.5 and I'm now getting two odd errors:
Block REXLANG is not licensed (class 34e2c540-c5a0-11d2-87bb-00105abfecca)
Block REXLANG2 is not licensed (class 34e2c540-c5a0-11d2-87bb-00105abfecca)
I'm assuming it's something simple I missed but haven't had much luck fixing this on my own.
Thanks,
dave

Hi Dave,
sorry for the difficulties while upgrading. This is a result of moving the REXLANG block from standard to advanced licensing group between version 2.10 and 2.50. However, we provide REXLANG licence to all owners of 2.10 licences so that their rights are not affected. Please send the SiteID of your Raspberry Pi to support@rexcontrols.com so I can generate the licence for you. In RexDraw, go to menu Target -> Licensing while in Watch mode, where you can read the SiteID.
Thanks, Jaroslav
