Hi,
This is Pasan from sri lanka and this is my very first post here.
I am not sure does this question asked here before.
I am using lots of PLCs and micro controller for my industrial applications.
Could I use REXcontrol system on raspberry pi as stand alone HMI screen with full HD graphics. (not via tcp/ip)
I want to send data via UART form my remote micro controllers and rexcontrol should be able to get the data and display on a big screen.
Does this possible ?
Thank you have a pleasant day...

That shouldn't be a problem. It's exactly how I'm using the RasPi with REXControls, although I'm using I2C instead of the UART.
You can use the browser in full screen mode (localhost).

Hi, I like the rexcontrol very much, but as a novice user to RPI and REX I have few questions to ask. And I haven't found any answers from the site. (Note:- At the moment I am using the free version because I want to know does the REX can do what I want to do.)
1) Can I use the RPI+REX as a stand alone HMI screen without using network IP based.
2) How to save the compiled code on the RPI. I mean when I turn off and on the device downloaded code is gone.
Below image will show you my requirement.
Thank you.....

Thanks for your kind words! I uploaded the image for you, hope it's OK.

Yes you can, as long as there is an Ethernet adapter (even if not used), there is no problem. On Raspberry Pi Zero, you have to plug in a USB WiFi module.
2) How to save the compiled code on the RPI. I mean when I turn off and on the device downloaded code is gone.
It is not gone, it just does not start automatically, which is a limitation of the evaluation version. The program is stored in /rex/rexcore/exec.rex, have a look. Upon reboot, connect with RexView and it will start, even in evaluation version. With a valid licence, the code starts automatically upon reboot.
