Local HMI on RPi

Hi All,

Silly question...!

I have my Monarco Hat running on a pi3, using Raspbian Stretch Lite. If I were to add a raspberry pi display or monitor to the HDMI port. How can I display the REX HMI? Is it as simple as installing a browser, or is there more to too it if using Stretch Lite?

Cheers

Mike

Hi Mike,
not silly at all. You need to install a browser and enable graphic environment, which requires a bit of Linux magic. Is switching from Raspbian Lite to full Raspbian with desktop an option?

Best regards,
Jaroslav

Re: Local HMI on RPi

Hi Jaroslav,

Switching is an option. My original use for using lite was due to space on the SD card, I have a much larger one now. What would you recommend? Updating to the desktop version?

Cheers

Re: Local HMI on RPi

Hi Mike,
yes it's probably the easiest to switch to Raspbian with desktop. Afterwards you can set the browser to start automatically on startup and display the HMI page.

Kind regards,
Jaroslav
