Monarco HAT, negative input voltage on the analog input

Hi all, quick question, I'm looking to see if the analog input on the Monarco HAT will be OK, with a negative input voltage.  What I'm trying to do, is measure a voltage that will swing between -5V and +5V.  Will this be OK?

If not, does anyone have a recommendation for an A2D converter (preferably in a HAT configuration) that will be happy with a negative input?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Monarco HAT, negative input voltage on the analog input

Hi,
the analog inputs of the Monarco HAT are unipolar so you can use it only with 0..10V or 0..20mA signals.

The only bipolar ADC in HAT format I know is https://www.abelectronics.co.uk/p/65/AD … -converter
However, you'll need a voltage divider to convert -5V..5V to -2.048V..2.048V.

Best regards,
Jaroslav
