Hello,
I am trying to connect REX OPC Server to Scada system Reliance following User Manual "OPC server systému REX".
I enabled the OPC address in system registry by pointing it to the IP address of the device running REX executive.
I can see the REX OPC server in the Add Station dialog, it shows 4 different items:
When I select REXControls.OPCTestSrv I can select and import its variables and used them in the project with absolutely no issues.
But when I select the real OPC server representing the actual running executive, the import procedure fails:
Would you have any hint where could the problem be? May be I has not enabled something or missed some security settings?
Thanks,
Michal

Hi Michal,
thank you for your valuable input. The User Manual you used will be updated.
You are right - it is security issue. Since Rex Control System introduced authentication the OPC connection should be also secured.
Please, find the following key in Windows registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\REX Controls\REX_X_XX_X_XXXX\RexOPCsvr
and edit TargetName value:
login:password@targetIpAdress
For default settings leave password blank:
admin@targetIpAdress
We are aware that Local Machine registry is not the best place to store credentials - we will fix it in future version.
The above mentioned procedure was also tested with Reliance 4 and it works well.
Hope it helps.
PS: Can you post the images in better resolution so everybody can see the screenshots? I wasn't able to see anything but the thumbnails. Thanks.
Cheers, Tomas

Thanks a lot for you response Tomas, following your instructions it works perfectly now.
I updated also links to images in my original post, by mistake I copied links to thumbnails only from uploads (/minixxxx.png). It is corrected now.
Have a nice day,
Michal
